Job description

Certified Medical Assistant - McKenzie Obstetrics & Gynecology
 
Position Details:
 
  • Hourly Base Rate: $21.67 - $30.45
  • Shift: Day Shift
  • Shift Hours Per Week: 40 hours/week, 8-hour shifts
  • Date Posted: 4/3/26
Job Summary: 
 
  • Escorts patients to rooms and assists in determining medical problems. 
  • Obtains pertinent medical records. 
  • Prepares patients for examination and treatment.
  • Takes patient histories and vital signs.
  • Prepares exam rooms and instruments for examination and/or testing.
  • Stocks supplies.
  • Responds to and refers incoming telephone calls.
  • Instructs patients and family regarding medications, test results and treatment instructions which are provided by the physician. 
  • Assists in the referral process.
  • Maintains patient confidentiality.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Educational/Licensing:

  • Graduation from an approved medical office assistant program.
  • Certification as a MOA from the American Association of Medical Assistants required.
  • BLS certification required.
  • National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT).

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of two to three years relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of medical practice and care to assist in giving patient care.
  • Skill in assisting in a variety of treatments and medications.
  • Skills in taking vital signs.
  • Ability to react calmly and effectively with physicians, patients and co-workers.
  • Must be flexible and a quick learner.
  • Ability to multi-task and float to any position.
  • Demonstrates the ability to navigate several computer applications.
  • Ability to operate all technical office equipment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills required.
  • Ability to maintain a professional demeanor and confidentiality in dealing with others, in person, electronically and on the telephone.
  • Able to perform work accurately and within rigid time frames.
