Conexon is a rapidly growing telecommunications company partnering with Rural Electric Cooperatives to design and deploy advanced fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) networks nationwide. Installs, maintains, and repairs customer FTTX broadband and voice services. Completes quality control functions for other installation technicians in the assigned area. Responsible for maintaining inventory between technicians and warehouses throughout the territory. Typically installs aerial and/or buried service drop cabling, ONTs, network interface devices (NID), and performs wiring for new or existing FTTX broadband, voice, and Special Circuit subscriber services.

Requirements

  • Highschool diploma required
  • P.C. and Microsoft Office skills
  • Ability to use optical test equipment including fusion splicers and OTDRs
  • Safely operate a company vehicle
  • Strong communication skills
  • Initiative to work remotely with limited supervision
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Physically able to lift 100 pounds
  • Safely working from ladders and ability to climb poles to 25'


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Installing FTTX broadband service to residential and commercial customers
  • Assures customer services are restored after trouble ticket dispatch
  • Completing both interior and exterior cabling of fiber optic and category ethernet cables
  • Documenting assignment of inventory within inventory system
  • Track progress of feeder construction
  • Communicate with field personnel to assure inventory levels are sufficient
  • Reconciling inventory
  • Updating equipment associated with customers
  • Documenting process and procedure
  • Other duties as assigned by management


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
  • Ability to walk long distances on a regular basis
  • Ability to lift and/or carry objects weighing up to X pounds
  • Ability to bend stoop kneel Crouch or reach as required by job tasks etc.
