About Kingman, Arizona
Kingman, AZ is located along Historic Route 66, just 90 minutes south of Las Vegas and two hours North of Phoenix in the beautiful high desert of Mohave County. Our tranquil mid-sized community is relatively low stress; traffic is minimal and average commute times to work are under fifteen minutes. Position Purpose:
All KHI employees are expected to perform their respective tasks and duties in such a way that supports KHI's vision to be among the kindest, highest quality health systems in the country.
Key Responsibilities
Supervision of MRI staff
  • Coordinates the work assigned to each area and monitors the work of the staff: develops and assigns daily schedule of assigned personnel and ensures accurate record keeping.
  • Observes and assists technical and ancillary staff in the performance of job duties, including providing suggestions for improved work efficiency and quality.
  • Performs preparation of control and quality control and assessment tasks (QA/QC).
  • Ensures the department delivers quality services, in accordance with applicable policies, procedures, and professional standards, to support operational excellence.
  • Serves as the Clinical Coordinator for Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) students.

Evaluation and Implementation of Appropriate Care
  • Under the direction of the Radiologist, anatomically positions the patient and performs imaging procedures utilizing MRI.
  • Uses professional judgment to adapt imaging procedures to ensure quality diagnostic outcomes.
  • After reviewing all pertinent data and assessing the patient's abilities and condition, selects the most appropriate patient care plan.
  • Selects appropriate shielding devices and appropriate immobilization devices.
  • Evaluates lab values prior to administering contrast media.
  • Assesses factors that may contraindicate the procedure, such as medications or insufficient patient preparation.
  • Reconfirms patient identification using two unique identifiers (Name and DOB) and verifies procedure requested. Verifies female patient pregnancy status when appropriate.
  • Able to recognize significant clinical information and historical facts, from the patient and from the medical record, which may impact the examination.
  • Monitors patient and equipment during procedures, accurately documents exam times (start and stop), patient reactions or problems, and reports concerns or issues immediately to supervisor.
  • Demonstrates ability to effectively perform advanced MRI angiography to include bilateral run-off's and the required reformatting with additions and subtraction of raw data.
  • Able to use extensive knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and resources to obtain the maximum diagnostic image (injectors, respiratory gating software, patient vitals monitor, etc.).
  • Demonstrates understanding of and responsibility for magnetic resonance safety compliance requirements.

Quality of Care
  • The technologist provides evidence-based care so as to prevent the development of a Healthcare Acquired Condition and hospital readmissions.
  • The technologist practices standard precautions during patient contact and while handling contaminated materials.
  • The technologist complies with CDC hand hygiene guidelines and works to reduce hospital acquired infections and other conditions.
  • Comply with all regulatory, organizational, and departmental statutes, policies, and procedures.

Patient Satisfaction:
  • Regularly applies AIDET (Acknowledge, Introduce, Duration, Explanation, Thank You) as well as other evidence-based behaviors when taking care of patients. Shows empathy care to patients and family members present.
  • Actively helps the department meet the identified Patient Satisfaction goal.
  • Demonstrates regular attendance and participation at scheduled department and team meetings. Absences must be communicated as soon as practically possible.
  • Ensures all licensure, competencies, training, and education are completed in a timely manner.
  • Participates in and encourage continuous process improvement.

Qualifications
Education: Graduate of an American College of Radiology (ACR) or Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) approved educational program.
Experience: On the job training with outside didactic education (i.e., Galveston College)
Certification:
  • BLS certification through the American Heart Association
  • MRI Certification through ARRT required within one-year post educational cross training within organization.

License:
  • Current registration and licensure by the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT) OR
  • Current registration and licensure by the American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist (ARMRIT)
