Job description

Associate Director, Full-Time MBA Admissions (HR Title: Student Recruiter III) (COX00000280)

About the Position

This on-campus, in-person role is responsible for recruiting high-quality candidates for the full-time Cox MBA (FTMBA) programs (One & Two Year) and related dual-degree programs (MA/MBA, JD/MBA, & M.S. Engineering/MBA). The role involves traveling domestically and internationally to recruit a diverse student body, reviewing applications, conducting interviews, and making admissions and scholarship recommendations as part of the Admissions Committee.

Essential Functions
  • Develop and execute student recruitment strategy for full-time MBA programs.
  • Attend in-person and virtual recruiting events, pitching Cox programs and stewarding prospects through application, interview, and assessment phases.
  • Plan and execute recruiting-related projects, including onboarding new recruiting partners/vendors, coordinating stakeholders, and assessing budget impacts.
  • Manage a team of MBA Student Ambassadors, overseeing selection, onboarding, training, task assignment, and performance feedback.
  • Collaborate with SMU Marketing team to develop and execute event strategy and promote events to drive leads.
  • Implement process improvements in Slate and other tools to streamline recruiting, application review, and admissions.
  • Provide additional support to the broader Cox Graduate Admissions Team as assigned.
  • Attend occasional evening and/or weekend events and regional, national, or international travel as required.
Qualifications

Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or Master’s in Higher Education Administration preferred. Minimum of five years of work experience required. Experience in university admissions, advising, and/or marketing/sales preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills; customer service orientation; problem‑solving, organizational, planning and time‑management skills. Experience with sales, student advising, admissions, or knowledge of international student visa process (1-20) preferred. Proficient with MS Office and CRM systems such as Slate or PeopleSoft.
