Job description

The University of Pikeville is looking for an Open Rank Professor of Business Administration within the Coleman College of Business. Located in the heart of Central Appalachia, UPIKE is a student-centered institution committed to academic excellence, professional preparation, and regional impact.
Faculty members at UPIKE work closely with students in a collaborative learning environment that values mentorship, innovation, and meaningful engagement both inside and outside the classroom.
The Coleman College of Business seeks an energetic educator who is passionate about teaching and committed to preparing students for leadership in today's evolving business environment. The successful candidate will contribute to a collegial academic community dedicated to student success and continuous program improvement.
Responsibilities:
  • Teaching assigned undergraduate and graduate business courses.
  • Developing engaging instructional materials and learning experiences.
  • Advising and mentoring students.
  • Participating in curriculum development and assessment activities.
  • Supporting accreditation and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Contributing service to the college, university, profession, and community.
  • Engaging in ongoing professional development and scholarly or applied activities appropriate to rank.

Qualifications:
  • Doctoral degree in Business Administration, Finance, Operations Management, or a closely related discipline from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in the primary teaching discipline preferred. Significant professional experience in Finance, Operations Management, or related business fields may also be considered.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to teaching excellence and student engagement.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Industry or professional experience.
  • Experience teaching in higher education.
  • Familiarity with canvas or similar learning management systems.
  • Experience using Open Educational Resources (OERs).
