Job description

SUMMARY

The Director of Financial Operations is responsible for partnering closely with functional and operational leaders

to ensure disciplined financial management aligned with production levels, capital plans, and long-term growth

objectives. This role provides strategic financial insight through detailed cost tracking, capital expenditure

analysis, and performance reporting to support data-driven decision-making across the organization.


The Director of Financial Operations plays a critical role in ensuring capital investments are deployed efficiently,

expenditures align with approved business plans, and financial transparency is maintained for executive

leadership and private equity ownership.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Partner with functional leaders to evaluate departmental spend relative to production levels, budget

requirements, and growth trajectories

· Establish and lead monthly spend read-outs with functional leaders to review actuals, variances, and

trends

· Manage and report on CAPEX spend, including tracking expenditures relative to engineering progress

and constructed fiber miles

· Develop and maintain reporting on:

o Cost per mile by project

o Cost per passing by project

o Cost per installation

o Installation tracking

· Ensure, through accurate and timely reporting, that capital expenditures are tracking in accordance

with approved business plans

· Partner with the Accounting team to support coding updates and chart-of-accounts alignment

necessary to report financial actuals meaningfully

· Assist in the annual budgeting and ongoing forecasting processes by leveraging cost reporting and

insights derived from monthly financial reports

· Support monthly financial reporting to executive leadership and private equity ownership, including

variance explanations and performance insights

· Track and report on additional key performance indicators (KPIs) as required to support operational

and financial objectives

· Continuously improve financial reporting processes, tools, and dashboards to enhance visibility,

accuracy, and timeliness of data

· Provide financial guidance and analytical support for strategic initiatives, capital planning, and growth

investments

· Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by executive leadership

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

· Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or related field required

· MBA, CPA, or CFA preferred

· 7+ years of progressive experience in financial operations, FP&A, or financial management roles

· Experience supporting capital-intensive operations, preferably within telecommunications, fiber, utilities, or infrastructure industries · Strong understanding of CAPEX management, project-based costing, and financial performance metrics · Experience working with or reporting to private equity ownership structures preferred · Advanced proficiency in financial modeling, reporting, and data analysis tools · Strong working knowledge of accounting principles and financial systems PREFERRED SKILLS · Strong analytical and problem-solving skills · Excellent communication and presentation abilities · Ability to influence and partner effectively with senior leaders · High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities · Proactive, results-oriented mindset with a focus on continuous improvement Mainstream Fiber Networks reserves the right to modify, interpret, or apply this job description in any way the organization desires.
