Work Schedule: Hybrid, 3 days per week in office
Employment Type: Contract
Location: Houston Texas
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced IBM Maximo Application Specialist / Developer to support the administration, configuration, implementation, enhancement, and ongoing support of an enterprise Maximo EAM environment.

The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience with IBM Maximo v7.x and Maximo Application Suite (MAS) 9, along with a strong background in Maximo configuration, integrations, reporting, production support, and system troubleshooting.

This position requires demonstrated Maximo subject matter expertise and the ability to work effectively with business users, IT teams, and external vendors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer, configure, support, and maintain the IBM Maximo EAM environment.
  • Manage Maximo system configuration modules and workflow development and administration.
  • Serve as a primary technical resource for Maximo users and IT support teams.
  • Configure and modify Maximo applications using Application Designer.
  • Perform Database Configuration and develop Automation Scripts.
  • Support integrations using the Maximo Integration Framework (MIF).
  • Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot BIRT reports, queries, and ad hoc reporting.
  • Manage user access, including adding, modifying, and granting appropriate system permissions.
  • Assist with testing, applying, and validating Maximo fixes and patches.
  • Support Maximo upgrade projects, including upgrades involving Maximo Application Suite.
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot technical and production issues.
  • Identify Maximo system defects and coordinate with vendors to resolve issues.
  • Archive and restore data as required.
  • Serve as a liaison between Maximo users, internal IT teams, and external vendors.
  • Support multiple Maximo environments, including development, testing, pre-production, training, and production.
  • Participate in application analysis, development, implementation, maintenance, and production support activities.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • 2–5+ years of hands-on IBM Maximo experience, including configuration, implementation, support, and maintenance.
  • Experience with IBM Maximo v7.x and/or Maximo Application Suite (MAS) 9.
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • Application Designer.
    • Database Configuration.
    • Automation Scripts.
    • Maximo Integration Framework (MIF).
    • BIRT Reporting.
  • 2–5+ years of experience working within the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Experience supporting production applications and troubleshooting system performance issues.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Strong communication and client-facing skills.
  • Ability to communicate technical issues clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Ideal Candidate:
The strongest candidate will be someone who has worked directly within a Maximo environment and can independently discuss how they have configured, supported, troubleshot, integrated, and enhanced the platform.

We are particularly interested in candidates who can demonstrate hands-on experience supporting Maximo in a production environment rather than candidates whose exposure has been limited to general application or project support.
