Job description

The Maximo Account Director/Executive is responsible for the revenue and growth of Perfaware’s Maximo business unit. This role acts as the liaison between the Perfaware executive team and the market, ensuring that our service offerings align with IBM’s product roadmap and our clients' asset management challenges. In this role, you will own the end-to-end sales cycle, build trusted relationships with IBM Maximo customers, and drive new business growth across the Maximo services landscape.This is a growth role — ideal for someone ambitious, well-networked in healthcare, and excited to be part of a high-velocity, growing Systems Integrator.

Responsibilities:
  • Pipeline Development: Identify, qualify, and close Maximo-related software and services opportunities (SaaS, Managed Services, Upgrades, Healthchecks and Implementations).
  • Lead the complete sales cycle — prospecting, pitching, deal management, closing, and ongoing account growth with a primary focus on Retail/CPG, Manufacturing, Distribution and Transportation industries and a secondary focus on Healthcare Life Sciences, Energy, University and Government sectors. Use LinkedIn, email, phone and other means and tools to prospect.
  • Build and Maintain an active pipeline of opportunities, contributing to accurate forecasting of bookings and revenue by leading business development activities.
  • Proposal Management: Lead the "Statement of Work" (SOW) process, ensuring timely responses, realistic timelines, and profitable margin structures.
  • Cross-Selling: Identify opportunities within existing digital commerce or supply chain accounts to introduce Maximo/EAM services and similarly explore Digital Commerce opportunities within EAM accounts.
  • Understand client needs and bring in Technical experts to demonstrate how Perfaware services can address their objectives and resolve challenges.
  • Marketing & Business Development: Plan and conduct marketing campaigns or events through a mix of external agencies, IBMers and self driven efforts or Perfaware hired BDRs. Attend industry events to network and source opportunities.
  • Work closely with delivery leads and Architects to shape smart, value-based solutions or offerings that clients will buy.
2. Strategic IBM Maximo Partnership & Opportunistic IBM /Salesforce Partnership
  • Channel Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for IBM Maximo Sales Reps, TSLs, ATLs and Partner Ecosystem Managers (PEMs) as well as a potential contact for IBM Automation or Data reps selling Sterling OMS, WatsonX and Bob solutions. Build opportunistic and secondary relationships with Salesforce or other Tech partner sellers that could be in play at any of our accounts or prospects.
  • Co-Selling: Facilitate "Better Together" sessions or enablement sessions with IBM sales teams and to ensure our practice is top-of-mind for lead referrals.
  • Asset Management Knowledge: Maintain solid knowledge of the Maximo Application Suite (MAS) modules (Monitor, Health, Predict, etc.) and new capabilities vs. competitive landscape and become very conversant in the Asset Management lingo for 2-3 industries within our primary focus to build trust & rapport with IBM Digital and Field sales teams.
3. Marketing & Thought Leadership (Account Director)
  • Content Strategy: Collaborate with the marketing or management team to produce white papers, case studies, and webinars that highlight our unique Maximo IP or based on industry trends and client needs.
  • Event Representation: Represent the firm at major industry events (e.g., Maximo World, IBM TechXchange) as a speaker or subject matter expert.
  • Market Positioning: Shape/Influence our "Unique Selling Proposition" (USP) in the Maximo space—whether it’s specialized industry accelerators (Life Sciences, Manufacturing/Industrial Products, Aerospace/Emerging tech) or rapid-deployment models.
4. Executive Strategy & Reporting (Account Director)
  • Business Planning: Present annual growth plans to the executive team, including sales and marketing headcount requirements, events budgets and revenue targets
  • P&L Oversight: Monitor the financial health of the practice, focusing on utilization rates, project margins, and recurring revenue growth.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Practice Revenue: Total contract value (TCV) of Maximo-related wins - services and software sales.
  • Partner Contribution: Number of leads/opportunities sourced via the IBM partnership.
  • Pipeline Generated: Maintaining a target pipeline for service engagements comprising a healthy mix of partner-sourced and Sales/BD-sourced opportunities.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • Experience: 8+ years of experience (Account Executive)/12+ years (Account Director) in the IT Services, Systems Integration, or Enterprise Software space, with a strong background in IBM Maximo and Asset Management (sales, pre-sales, or outbound sales).
  • Maximo Ecosystem Understanding: Solid understanding of the Maximo Application Suite (MAS 7 through MAS 9). Ability to confidently discuss upgrade/migration strategies (e.g., moving from v7.x to MAS 9 on Red Hat OpenShift) , mobile solutions (Maximo Mobile/Anywhere) and emerging solutions (AI powered).
  • Technical Acumen for Sales: Must be able to translate complex architectural concepts—such as the Maximo Integration Framework (MIF), REST APIs, and Cloud/Containerization (Azure/AWS)—into clear business value and ROI for clients.
  • Pre-Sales & RFP Leadership: Proven experience owning the sales cycle, including scoping estimates, leading RFP/RFI responses, facilitating technical/functional workshops, and overseeing the creation of client-facing demos.
  • Industry Focus: Strong existing network and domain expertise in at least two of our core target industries: Warehousing, Logistics, Retail/Distribution, Transportation & Infrastructure, Manufacturing, Universities, Industrials (Energy) or Health & LifeSciences.
  • Marketing & Thought Leadership: A passion for acting as an Asset Management evangelist. Experience crafting or conceptualizing marketing collateral (brochures, case studies) and representing the practice through webinars, LinkedIn thought leadership, and networking at major events like MaximoWorld and Maximo User Groups (MUGs).
  • Executive Communication: Exceptional presentation and relationship-building skills, with the ability to converse comfortably with C-level executives, stakeholders, and technical delivery teams.
