Job description

Position OverviewAs an Automation Technician III, you will maintain an automated material handling system. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining continuous system operation by troubleshooting, repairing, testing, and performing preventive maintenance activities.Job Description

Schedule: Tuesday-Friday 10:00PM - 8:30 AM

Description

  • Maintain all systems and subsystems of the Automated Storage and Retrieval System. Ensure rapid equipment return to serviceability by performing a thorough in-depth troubleshooting on any non-functioning or faulted system, subsystem or component. Keep Management informed of specific problems and suggested actions, including approximate time required for repairs.
  • Troubleshoot and replace fieldbus communication components on the material handling conveyor systems, including addressing components and running diagnostics. Be able to remove and replace mechanical parts of the conveyor such as: repairing broken chain, belting, rollers drive motors, realigning or replacing control system sensors (photo-eyes), proximity, etc. Ability to remove and replace, reload software parameters for PLC product lines and other like components, such as industrial PCs or server based controls. Diagnose and replace as required electronic sensors including reprogramming and alignment.
  • Perform Preventive Maintenance, troubleshooting, calibration, and adjustments on multi axis robotic arms and End Of Arm Tools. Be proficient with conveyor maintenance including Preventive Maintenance (PM) actions on automated conveyor equipment as directed.
  • Document repairs, PMs, parts usage, and time by completing work orders in a computerized maintenance management system (Maximo). Responsible for cleanup of equipment and removal of replaced parts from work areas after repairs are completed.
  • Assist and train other automation team technicians in troubleshooting and repairs of any equipment as required, consistent with level of experience and training.

Skills

  • Specialized Knowledge : Working knowledge of 480, 277, and 120 volt electrical systems (single and three phase). Experience with and advanced working knowledge of Allen Bradley PLCs (Programmable Logic Controller)and network diagnostics and troubleshooting
  • Special Skills : Experience welding with stick or MIG a plus
  • Physical abilities: Site inspections, equipment inspections, mechanical repairs and replacements, all which require good mobility, physical exertion, walking, bending, reaching, climbing ladders, carrying tools and parts, etc.
  • Other: Experience with MS Office programs: Excel, Word and Outlook; Ability to work independently of supervisor following procedures and manuals

Years Of Experience

  • 5-7: Hold an Associate's Degree for Electrical or Mechanical studies or 5+ years equivalent experience in a electro-mechanical field
  • 5-7: Ability to read and interpret electrical or electronic schematics, mechanical diagrams and Illustrated Parts Breakdowns for troubleshooting and repairs, while understanding complex automated system drawings and component specification sheets.
  • 5-7: Possess sufficient Electrical or Mechanical aptitude to replace electrical and mechanical components of Symbotic Rovers (BOTS) and perform preventive maintenance
