Position Summary
JLL is seeking a highly skilled Controls Engineer to join our Facilities Maintenance team. This role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing building automation systems, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and related control systems to ensure seamless facility operations. The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise with strong problem-solving abilities and a commitment to continuous improvement and cost savings. This is a 1st shift position.
Key Responsibilities
Systems Management & Technical Support
  • Respond to and resolve Maximo preventive maintenance (PM) tasks, Corrigo work orders, and client service calls daily
  • building management systems (BMS), including Tridium platforms, ensuring proper functionality in coordination with contractors
  • Create and maintain backups of all PLC, HMI, and VFD software parameters on a monthly basis
  • Provide emergency after-hours support for critical facility systems as needed

Documentation & Compliance
  • Prepare weekly and monthly EPA reports for the Environmental Team
  • Develop and update Technical Information System (TIS) documents for the maintenance team
  • Maintain and update facility drawings and logic repositories in dual locations (JLL and client SharePoint)
  • Complete problem-solving documentation and safety catch reports monthly

Team Support & Leadership
  • Train and mentor maintenance technicians on Maximo, computer systems, and technical procedures
  • Assist with supervisory tasks including work permit creation, onboarding, and communication with client leadership
  • Coordinate weekend coverage for off-site incident commander duties
  • Participate in weekly JLL team meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives

Strategic Initiatives
  • Lead controls projects focused on continuous improvement and cost savings
  • Research and recommend alternative options for discontinued parts and equipment
  • Manage and maintain three operational maintenance laptops with required software and IT updates

Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or related technical field preferred
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience with industrial control systems, PLCs, HMIs, and building automation systems

Technical Skills
  • Proficiency with PLC programming and troubleshooting (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar platforms)
  • Experience with building management systems, particularly Tridium
  • Strong understanding of VFDs, HMI systems, and SCADA applications
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, and technical drawings

Software & Systems
  • Maximo CMMS experience required
  • Proficiency with Corrigo work order management system
  • Competency with Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint
  • JLL Workday, JLL Connect, and Cority experience preferred

Certifications & Training
  • Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) certification required
  • First Aid/CPR certification required
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 preferred
  • EPA compliance training experience preferred
