This role will be located at one of Discovery Land Company's locations: Driftwood Downtown, in Austin, TX.
Driftwood Downtown is seeking a Member Services and Membership Manager who will be responsible for directly building and defining the Driftwood Downtown membership community to ensure the club culture and experience remain strong. They will manage their time to handle recruitment and outreach, retention and member inquiries, and on the floor face time with members and their guests. You will be a direct link between our members and operations, acting as a voice for our members.
An integral aspect of the role is developing relationships and understanding the member community, their mindset and needs, consistently being present and available and on the floor during peak hours.
The Membership Manager will report to the Driftwood Downtown General Manager with a dotted line to Driftwood Golf & Ranch Club General Manager and Member Experience Manager, ensuring membership targets are achieved and that the overall experience within the club is consistently high quality, friendly and memorable. They will work cohesively to support the Events Manager and F&B Team to deliver the best possible experience for all prospects, members, and guests who visit the club.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead membership recruitment efforts, including prospect outreach, club tours, applications, approvals, onboarding, and member processing.

• Develop and implement strategic membership sales plans to achieve annual acquisition, retention, renewal, and revenue targets.

• Analyze market trends and customer preferences to refine and optimize sales strategies.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective members, current members, local industry partners, and community leaders.

• Represent Driftwood Downtown throughout the greater Austin community to strengthen brand awareness and generate qualified membership opportunities.

• Identify and engage with prospects to introduce to Driftwood Golf and Ranch Club sales and community.

• Partner with the General Manager, Finance, and Marketing teams to develop sales forecasts, membership campaigns, and strategies informed by local market trends and customer preferences.

• Maintain accurate prospect, membership, sales, and revenue records, and prepare regular reports on activity, performance, pipeline, and market feedback.

• Monitor and analyze sales data to identify trends, opportunities, and potential challenges.

• Possess in-depth knowledge of the company's real estate projects, including features, and benefits.

• Lead all club communications, serving as the primary point of contact and concierge for members, guests, and prospects, providing timely communication regarding club activities, services, amenities, and local offerings.

• Maintain a consistent presence on the club floor during peak periods, welcoming members, guests, and prospects while supporting the atmosphere, service standards, and overall "vibe" of the club.

• Work regular weekly floor shifts and contribute meaningful observations, member feedback, operational needs, and follow-up items to the end-of-day report.

• Review daily operational reports and ensure member inquiries, concerns, complaints, and outstanding action items are addressed promptly and professionally.

• Gather and communicate member feedback regarding service, facilities, programming, and the overall club experience, partnering with leadership to develop appropriate solutions.

• Support member engagement and retention by maintaining detailed member profiles and preferences and using that information to create personalized experiences and meaningful touchpoints.

• Collaborate with the Events Manager, Food and Beverage Team, and club leadership to develop and execute events, activations, entertainment, and programming that attract prospects and strengthen member engagement.

• Coordinate concierge offerings, event reservations, visiting-member access, and special arrangements for high-profile members and guests, ensuring service consistent with Discovery Land Company standards.

• Foster a positive, collaborative team culture and coordinate with other departments as needed to deliver a seamless, high-quality experience for members, guests, prospects, and team members.

• Maintain an in-depth understanding of Driftwood Downtown, Driftwood Golf & Ranch Club, Discovery Land Company, and the broader portfolio of properties in order to effectively communicate available services and experiences.

• Manage and evaluate Member Services systems and communication platforms, including Outlook, Slack, Pacesetter (club app), Mailchimp, CRM tools, and other applicable club technology.

• Additional duties as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent. College degree in business, communications/marketing, or related field preferred.

• Proven experience in membership sales, with a track record of successful sales management.

• Prior experience and proven success in a leadership role in the membership sales industry is strongly preferred.

• Experience and knowledge to operate computer and club communication platforms including Microsoft software, Pacesetter (club app), and Mailchimp.

• Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to deliver service to members, guests, and team members.

• Must be able to work flexible work hours/schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Long hours may be required due to business demands.

• Ability to work in a team environment.

• Ability to stay calm and focused during the busiest of times.

• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English; additional languages preferred.

• Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including, but not limited to, working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, standing, walking, and moving for periods of greater than eight (8) hours, and lifting and carrying items sometimes greater than fifty (50) pounds.

• Flexibility and ability to pivot to new projects and a desire to work in a fast-paced environment.
