• Conduct thorough evaluations of new patients, utilizing standardized assessments and detailed observations to identify their unique needs and establish measurable goals.
• Design and implement effective treatment plans that are evidence-based and tailored to each patient’s goals and abilities, regularly updating these plans in response to patient progress.
• Maintain accurate and comprehensive documentation of all evaluations, treatments, and patient interactions to ensure continuity of care while meeting regulatory compliance.
• Provide education to patients and their families about conditions, available treatment options, and recovery strategies, fostering an engaging and supportive environment.
• Collaborate with other members of the rehabilitation team, including physicians and support staff, to facilitate optimal communication regarding patient care and progress.
• Participate in quality and safety improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing service delivery within the facility.
• Mentor and supervise occupational therapy assistants and students, sharing your valuable insights while facilitating their professional development.
• Contribute to the development of new therapies and marketing strategies that highlight our unique services and reach potential patients.
• Engage in continuing education and networking opportunities to stay current with industry trends and best practices.
• Adhere strictly to facility and organizational policies and procedures, ensuring the safety and confidentiality of all patients.

You will primarily serve children who may be at risk for autism spectrum disorder, along with adults recovering from various conditions requiring occupational therapy. Recognizing the distinct needs of each patient, you will provide personalized care aimed at improving their daily functioning, independence, and quality of life.

• A Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
• Valid licensure as an Occupational Therapist in the state of Connecticut.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills to manage multiple patient caseloads while prioritizing treatment goals.
• Proficient in maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information with discretion.

• Prior experience working in a rehabilitation or therapy setting is preferred, especially with pediatric populations.
• Experience in developing and implementing treatment plans for children with developmental disabilities.
• Knowledge of current trends and research in occupational therapy practices.
