Job description

Val-Matic Valve Packer

Since 1966, Val-Matic Valve has been delivering products and services that are essential in providing clean water and other fluids to industries and homes around the world. Today, Val-Matic manufactures nine types of air valves and is the leading supplier of air valves in North America. As a subsidiary of A.Y. McDonald Industries, the company is family owned and privately operated while living with the motto 'the customer is the Boss'. The Packer builds SCV and prepares packages for shipment.

Responsibilities

  • Reads job information and locates correct tools and materials.
  • Assemble SCV per work instructions.
  • Attach metal tags, labels, and any special tagging or labeling that may be required per the special-order sheet.
  • Make boxes or packs as required.
  • Clean valves and add rust preventative to unpainted surfaces.
  • Place valves into specified containers, label, and seal as required.
  • Cleans work area daily.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Experience working in a Manufacturing Environment
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Understand plant safety guidelines and pass all required safety training.
  • Must be able to understand verbal and written instructions.
  • Troubleshoot problems and report issues.
  • Must work well in a team environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to be on feet for up to 8-12 hours per shift.
  • Use of hands and fingers to perform job function.
  • Ability to stoop, kneel, bend and climb.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs.

Wages: $21/hr + shift premium
