As a Senior Sales Account Manager, you will sell engineering and scientific software, consulting, and product training services within a named account territory. Responsibilities will include developing relationships with existing customers as well as growing new business opportunities. You will work closely with technical experts and Marketing teams to bring the full range of MathWorks product and service offerings to your accounts. The qualified candidate should have experience selling complex software solutions into automotive or commercial vehicle accounts or a closely related industry.

Responsibilities
  • Attain monthly/quarterly/annual sales goals for software licenses, software maintenance service, and professional services (consulting and product training).
  • Develop relationships within existing groups and new locations and business units.
  • Generate sales by virtual and in-person customer meetings along with public and private customer events.
  • Develop and manage a funnel of opportunities and activities using Salesforce CRM tool.
  • Collaborate with Application Engineering, Marketing, Consulting, Training, and peer sales teams at international locations to develop and execute a Strategic Territory Plan.
  • Lead an enterprise selling process for accounts with new or existing Enterprise License Agreements.
  • Prioritize and follow up on qualified leads provided by Marketing or Sales Support.
  • Prospect for new business opportunities within a defined set of named accounts.
  • Prepare required sales documentation (e.g., trip reports, proposals, meeting notes).
  • Work closely with decision makers at all levels to understand users, requirements, and management business issues.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Visa sponsorship will not be provided for this position.
  • Candidates for this position must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for any employer without restriction.
  • A bachelor's degree and 6 years of professional work experience is required.

Additional Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in an engineering, science, business, or marketing discipline.
  • 3-5 years of direct sales experience.
  • Evidence of success in complex software solutions sales in the automotive industry.
  • Demonstrated success managing a territory using a CRM system.
  • Experience working with Application Engineers and Sales Support resources.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Travel up to 30%.
