The RoleAspenTech is looking for a Senior Software Developer to join our Manufacturing and Supply Chain group, building the next generation of solutions for Petrochemical companies to optimize their value chain. As a Senior Software Developer, you will help design and develop new features in collaboration with Product Management and Product Designers. Strong software development knowledge and understanding of modeling and optimization principles are a must for this position. Working knowledge of refinery and petrochemical processes as well as supply chain and distribution modeling are also useful skills for this role.Your Impact
  • Investigate new and developing modeling and optimization technologies as they appear in industry and academia and determine how to leverage these new technologies into our software applications.

  • Provide technical leadership for software development projects related to mathematical modeling and optimization.

  • Design, develop, maintain, and support new and existing engineering software applications.

  • Actively contribute to technical and functional design sessions.

  • Provide creative solutions when dealing with technology challenges.

  • Participating in the maintenance and enhancement of the existing code bases.

  • Provide technical support to product management, product marketing, services, and customer support on customer activities.

What You'll Need
  • BS in Chemical Engineering, Mathematics, or related fields (Master's degree is helpful, PhD preferred).

  • 5-8 years of experience in the development of software for modeling, control and optimization of chemicals, oil & gas, and/or refining processes.

  • Strong background in numerical methods, mathematical modeling, and optimization.

  • Solid computer programming and software development experience, with specific experience in C#/.NET. Experience with C++ is a plus.

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, writing and presentation skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to convey complex information in a clear and concise manner.

  • English fluency (written and verbal) required.
