As an English Language Arts Teacher, you will have the opportunity to change lives through education as you help develop skilled readers and writers, critical listeners, and accomplished speakers.

As a Math Teacher, you will have the opportunity to change lives through education as you help students understand that mathematical problems have an absolute answer requiring precision, accuracy and fluency through a spiral curriculum reinforced by mathematical practices.

As a Science Teacher, you will have the opportunity to change lives through education as you enable students to construct and understand scientific concepts through investigation and analysis with use of laboratory equipment, student readings, and interactive technology.

As a Social Studies Teacher, you will have the opportunity to change lives through education as you guide students through world and U.S. history and geography while they learn about responsible citizenship and America's place in global history. And you will do meaningful work that makes a difference for our students as you:

  • Implement instructional activities that contribute to a climate where students are actively engaged in meaningful learning experiences.

  • Identify, select, and modify instructional resources to meet the needs of the students with varying backgrounds, learning styles, and special needs.

  • Utilize direct instruction techniques to guide our students through a variety of activities designed to promote the social, physical and intellectual growth that is needed for primary school success!

  • Assist in assessing changing curricular needs and offers plans for improvement.

  • Maintain effective and efficient record keeping procedures.

  • Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with students, parents, and other professionals on a regular basis.

  • Collaborate with peers to enhance the instructional environment.

  • Model professional and ethical standards when dealing with students, parents, peers, and community.

  • Ensure that student growth and achievement is continuous and appropriate for age group, subject area, and/or program classification.

  • Participate in training and staff meetings.

  • Meet professional obligations through efficient work habits such as: meeting deadlines, honoring schedules and coordinating meetings as needed.

  • Evaluate each student's learning capabilities and celebrate student accomplishments.

  • Encourage students to uphold our values and model mature behavior and good character in the classroom, on the school campus, and throughout their lives.

  • Be active in the role when light lifting, sitting, standing, moving throughout the campus and traveling to other campuses as required. Participate in events outside of normal hours.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS THAT SET YOU UP FOR SUCCESS

  • Bachelor's degree.

  • The incumbent in this position will be required to pass a criminal history background check.

  • A current teaching certificate from within the state position is located.

PHYSICAL AND TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS / WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Travel between campuses is required from time to time.

  • This position requires the need to lift objects (up to 25 pounds) on occasion.

  • This position may require sitting for long periods at times, talking on the phone, standing, kneeling, stooping and long periods of concentration.

  • Local and in-state travel required.
