Job description

Our brand-new Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham in Nephi is seeking a hands-on, motivated and dependable person to lead maintenance operations as our Chief Engineer. This position helps to ensure the overall physical functionality, safety and product quality of the hotel in our effort to deliver outstanding guest service. This hotel is managed and operated by Wittwer Hospitality.
As the Chief Engineer, you'll be the go-to expert responsible for keeping our property safe, efficient, and running smoothly while maintain the highest standard of safety and functionality of our hotel.
This is a Full-Time poisition
Starting Pay: $21 - $23 +/hour (DOE)

Requirements
What do we expect from you?
  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • At least 3-years of hands-on maintenance experience, including working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and life safety.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English
  • Pool maintenance experience is preferred.
  • Must be able to safely deadlift at least 60 lbs.
  • Good organizational, verbal and written communication skills, and ability to do basic math

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee day-to-day maintenance operations for the hotel
  • Perform preventative maintenance across guest rooms, public areas, and equipment (e.g., drains, paint, furniture, systems upkeep)
  • Troubleshoot and repair issues related to HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general facilities
  • Complete routine repairs such as fixing locks, patching walls, and maintaining fixtures and equipment
  • Inspect, test, and maintain building systems and safety equipment (e.g., ventilation, fire alarms)
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests to minimize guest disruption
  • Maintain hotel grounds and property including trash removal, basic landscaping, pool maintenance, and supply stocking
  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors and assist with renovations or larger repair projects
  • Track and manage work orders, supplies, and equipment maintenance schedules
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations
  • Communicate updates and report maintenance needs to the General Manager
  • Be available for on-call support for urgent maintenance issues
