Job Title: High School Math Tutor- CIS HOT
Job Classification: Community Service, Student
Department: Off Campus Community Service

Desired Length of Employment: Fall/Spring
Pay Rate: $12
Key Components:
This position is reserved for Federal Work Study (FWS) students only. Job Title: High School Math Tutor
Math tutors will help students in the academic subject of math. This includes primarily assisting students with homework or GED work. Tutors are required to attend periodic meetings and professional trainings that will equip them to be more effective. Tutors are responsible for completing detailed service logs for each student that they work with.
Duties and responsibilities
• Coordinate with the tutoring manager on scheduling, implementation, and evaluation of tutoring services
• Establish and maintain positive relationships with all students
• Establish and maintain positive working relationships with CIS staff
• Ensure the CIS program objectives are implemented as outlined contractually
• Maintain a working knowledge of CIS and district policies and procedures
• Maintain complete and accurate documentation
• Attend meetings, trainings and other required functions of CIS
• Other duties as assigned
Experience & Qualifications
• Enrolled in Baylor University and must be federal work study eligible.
• Strong communication skills.
• Excellent organizational, time management and computer proficiency.
• Well-groomed and professional appearance.
• Ability to function in diverse job situation.
• Ability to transport oneself to and from the work site.
• Must complete and clear Criminal Background Check.
• Spanish speaking a plus.

  • May assist with planning, organizing, and implementing community services or programs
  • May assist with various projects, activities or tasks related to community projects
