Math Research Jobs in Kansas (NOW HIRING)

Purpose:
Under the general supervision of the school principal, to facilitate Student Success and growth in academic and interpersonal skills through implementing District approved curriculum; documenting teacher and student progress/activity/outcomes; addressing specific educational needs of individual students and by creating a flexible, safe and optimal learning environment; and providing feedback to students, parents and administration regarding student progress, expectations, goals, Etc.
Qualifications: 

• Possess Valid Kansas Math License for secondary grades (6-12, 7-12, or K-9)
• Advanced degree, experience and/or specialized training in curriculum content and instructional pedagogy relative to assignment.
• Knowledge and experience with instruction, methodology and materials related to bilingual education.  ESL/ESOL endorsement preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to work with fellow educators to develop, implement and evaluate instructional strategies and materials to improve teaching and learning for all students.
• Kansas Certification of Health on file in the Central Office.

 
Essential Functions: 
Knowledge, Skill and Abilities

• Develops and administers middle school curriculum consistent with district goals and objectives.
• Promotes a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small group instruction, and student learning.
• Develops lesson plans and instructional materials and translates lesson plans into learning experiences so as to best utilize the time for instruction.
• Teaches all required subject matters as assigned to the grade level, which may include reading, language arts, social studies, mathematics, science, art, health, physical education, and music to pupils in a classroom, utilizing course of study adopted by the board of education, and other appropriate learning activities
• Conducts ongoing assessment of student learning, and modifies instructional methods to fit individual students needs, including students with special needs semicolon conducts individual small group instruction as needed
• Organizes and maintains a system for accurate and complete record-keeping, grading, and reporting for all student activities, achievement and attendance as required by District procedures and applicable laws.
• Encourages parental involvement in students' education and insures effective communication with students and parents
• Ensures that student conduct conforms with the school's standards and school district policies, and establishes and maintains standards of pupil Behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom.
• Coordinates with other Middle School professional staff members, especially within grade level and specific subjects, to evaluate and assess curriculum, and participates in faculty meetings and committees.
• Administers standardized tests in accordance with district testing programs.
• Contribute to the improvement initiatives of the district and individual school buildings.
• Work effectively with district and building administration, as well as instructional staff to improve literacy instruction and student achievement.
• Provide instructional direction, assistance and support to classroom teachers.
• Assist in the assessment and analysis of student achievement for program improvement.
• Monitor and assist with the implementation, delivery and evaluation of district-approved curriculum, materials and instructional methodology.
• Communicate in a professional manner with staff, students and the public.
• Observe district, State and federal policies and guidelines relative to job responsibilities.

 
General Responsibilities:

• Support instructional staff in the implementation of effective literacy instructional strategies to deliver the district's approved Math curriculum.
• Assist with staff development activities for instructional staff relative to current research and trends, as well as district-adopted/approved Math materials, methodologies and curriculum.
• Assist administrative and instructional staff with the analysis of student achievement information, and with the development of plans to address identified areas of weakness.
• Confer with district and building administrative personnel regarding progress and concerns related to student achievement.
• Assist administrative and instructional staff in the observation of student academic performance and the recommendation of appropriate interventions to support improved teaching and learning.
• Continue personal professional growth, and share related information, materials and strategies with instructional and administrative staff.
• React positively to change.
• Respond effectively and efficiently to other tasks as assigned.

 
Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to travel among the district's school and administrative sites.
• Must be able to work in both classroom and office settings.
• Must occasionally lift materials and equipment up to fifty (50) pounds.
• May require extended periods of both sitting and standing.
• Requires patience to work with numerous interruptions, flexible scheduling and various staff.

 
Work Environment:
The noise level in the work environment is usually minimal.
