Come join the MAPEI company as a Technical Representative for our Tile & Stones/Floor covering division.

Under the responsibility of the Technical Services Manager, the person in this position is responsible for providing general technical support (while focusing on their respective product group), investigating product complaints, supporting sales, visiting job sites, creating/giving training sessions in an assigned sales region, helping with product development, and writing technical correspondence including bulletins/specifications.

Main tasks and responsibilities of the position:

  • Conducts training seminars on product education and updates;
  • The position involves regular use of computer systems and software;
  • Responds promptly and professionally when returning telephone calls and replying to correspondence and emails on the use of MAPEI's products (ceramic, resilient and accessories);
  • Makes or reviews written technical recommendations;
  • Handles and resolves product complaints;
  • Works with colleagues in the Technical Service department in Laval to arrange, stage and perform product applications to evaluate new, reformulated or competitive brands to assist with sales support, system recommendations and new product development.
  • Responsible for analysis and product crossover research;
  • Produces requested reports;
  • Writes articles for magazines;
  • Must be able to travel in Canada occasionally;
  • Assists Sales Representatives by visiting sites with specifications, evaluation of problems and follows-up on file;
  • Performs other tasks as required.

  • Education: High School Diploma (HSD)
  • Years of experience: Minimum of five (5) years of experience in the construction and/or technical industry and/or related experience. Any equivalent combination of related training and experience is considered.
  • Requires a valid driverโ€™s license and a good driving record.
  • Knowledge of the current standards in the tile and flooring installation industry, an asset.
  • Languages Spoken and Written: English
