Job Summary
The Student Assistant will support the Department of Mathematical Science as a Research Assistant on the Statesboro Campus beginning Fall 2026.
The Student Assistant will work with Dr. Eisenreich on research related to fraction instruction.The position also involves collecting data at two local elementary schools during the months of October, November, December, and January while supporting ongoing research activities
Student employees cannot work more than 1300 hours in a 12-consecutive month period.
Responsibilities

• Completes annotated bibliographies
• Collects and analyzes data
• Presents findings at different conferences
• Writes papers related to our work

Shift Specifics

• Up to 10 hours per week
• Flexible with schedule of availability
• Some scheduled meetings in the elementary schools, but most hours will be flexible.

Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements

• Must be enrolled in six or more undergraduate credit hours or three or more graduate credit hours at Georgia Southern University.

Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Education

• Education Major who had Dr. Eisenreich for Math 2008 or Math 3135

Preferred Experience

• Experience with GA standards related to fractions instruction for Third - Fifth grade

Proposed Salary
$15.00 per hour
This is a non-exempt position paid on a biweekly basis.
