JOB SUMMARY

As a Maintenance Technician you will perform routine tasks and duties. Assist higher level staff in performing the more complex and difficult tasks. Under the supervision and guidance of an Area manager or skilled journeyman or master electrician, will assist in a wide variety of maintenance work tasks/projects. Perform upkeep of building and grounds, carpentry, plumbing, painting, pneumatics, mechanical and electrical systems. Will ensure tools, materials, and industrial equipment are maintained in good working order and are available as needed.

WHAT YOULL DO

  • Perform general maintenance repairs on building, equipment and machines for purpose of ensuring a safe and productive work environment.
  • Service and replace minor plumbing fixtures.
  • Perform minor electrical work not requiring a licensed electrician such as replacing light bulbs and fuses.
  • Perform minor carpentry and repair work.
  • Apply paint, varnish and stain to all types of surfaces in order to protect and beautify surfaces using appropriate tools and equipment.
  • Clean building grounds internally and externally as assigned.
  • Complete projects and work orders within established time frames.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on machinery, equipment and tools by cleaning, lubricating, greasing and/or oiling to ensure optimum working order. As needed to maintain equipment replace belts on motors, change filters, change bearings, etc
  • Conduct proper set up and operation of machine tools to prevent damage or loss.
  • Report all faulty equipment, defective material and unusual conditions to Area Manager.
  • Respond to emergency situations during and after hours to resolve immediate safety or production concerns.
  • Observe all prescribed safety rules and regulations and maintain work area in a neat and orderly condition.
  • Conduct safeguarding of work area, moving of equipment and performing machine operations in the repair of machinery and equipment to injury to others and self.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • 1 year of maintenance experience or equivalence
  • Ability to operate Material Handling Equipment
  • Ability to utilize power and hand tools and measuring tools
  • Knowledge of plumbing parts, electrical fittings, pneumatic tubbing fittings.
  • Strong record and ability to adhere to safety practices
  • Ability to perform basic math
  • Basic computer skills to include data entry and data retrieval.
  • Basic English reading and writing skills
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, drawings and diagrams.
  • Ability to adapt to changing technologies and learn functionality of new equipment and systems.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with team and internal/external customers
  • Strong attendance record with ability to provide prompt and reliable attendance for scheduled shift and overtime.
  • Ability to perform physical requirements of maintenance tasks.
