Prater Industries, a leader in airlocks, mills, and separators since 1925, is seeking a hands-on Lab/Service Technician to join our Operations department. In this dual-focus role, you will be instrumental in testing equipment to support sales and engineering while providing expert technical service to our customers both locally and internationally.What You Will DoAs a Service Technician, you will be responsible for the setup, operation, and maintenance of specialized equipment. Your key duties will include:Testing & Analysis: Performing routine tests on Prater equipment and prototypes. You will operate laboratory tools such as vac-screens, weigh scale balances, Ro-taps, and Malvern particle analyzers.Data Management: Gathering and documenting test results on laboratory computers and performing basic mathematical calculations.Technical Support: Troubleshooting technical problems and performing maintenance on equipment at our facility and customer sites.Customer Success: Assisting customers with the setup and startup of new equipment and systems.Operations Support: Assisting in the operation of toll facilities and performing simple plumbing and electrical wiring to support testing.Requirements & QualificationsWe are looking for a self-motivated team player who enjoys mechanical work and problem-solving.Education: High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications are a plus.Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office and experienced with Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).Safety & Compliance: Thorough understanding of OSHA requirements and safety best practices.Certifications: Forklift experience and certification are required.Travel: Must possess a valid passport with no restrictions for international travel.
