Schedule: Monday - Friday / First Shift

  • The St. Louis Laboratory Support Technician will be part of a diverse team of technicians focused on the support of the BRD development labs.
  • They will support the gene therapy and CPD groups by ensuring equipment is properly calibrated and maintained and lab supplies are available as needed.
  • The technician will be responsible for the overall cleanliness and organization, as well.
  • The technician will also support the unit operations in the lab and will be cross trained to provide backup for laboratory technician functions within the organization and assay support where needed.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Duties and responsibilities will include maintenance and troubleshooting of various types of equipment (blood gas analyzers, cell analyzers, bioreactors, pH meters, etc.)
  • Weekly calibration
  • Ordering of supplies and spare parts
  • Interfacing with vendors for repairs as required
  • Technician will be responsible for ordering and maintaining supplies for the laboratory, including chemicals, and will be required to keep the overall lab orderly and organized
  • The technician will be cross trained in other laboratory functions in order to provide backup, as needed
  • Learn and practice basic aseptic procedures as per training and SOP's.
  • Learn to operate, clean and perform minor maintenance on equipment which includes filtration trains, autoclaves, utility units and CIP stations.
  • Assist in reading and reporting testing results using scientific instruments.
  • Completion of documents and log sheets.
  • Must comply with GMP requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Must be able to calculate mathematical calculations and conversions.
  • Familiar with general safety procedure and guidelines.
  • Must be self motivated and have a strong attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills required.

What is the minimum education experience required?: 

  • High School Diploma, Associates Degree, or BS/BA in Biotechnology, Biology, Biochemistry, or equivalent.
