Job description

Mathnasium is seeking a caring, energetic, and reliable Pre-K Teaching Intern to provide temporary coverage during a maternity leave. This role focuses on supporting early learners in developing foundational math skills through engaging, hands-on instruction. The position is ideal for individuals interested in early childhood education and gaining classroom experience in a structured learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with Pre-K students in small groups or one-on-one settings
  • Deliver Mathnasium curriculum in a fun, engaging, and age-appropriate way
  • Support students in developing early math and problem-solving skills
  • Create a positive, encouraging learning environment
  • Assist with classroom management and transitions between activities
  • Communicate student progress with lead instructors as needed
  • Flexible scheduling available

Required availability:

  • At least 4 days per week during our normal operational hours 
  • (Monday–Thursday)  3:30 PM – 7:30 PM
  • Saturdays from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM
  • Hours are flexible based on availability 

Qualifications

  • Interest in early childhood education or related field
  • Patient, nurturing, and enthusiastic personality
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to engage young learners through play-based or interactive methods
  • Reliable and punctual

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with young children (Pre-K or early elementary)
  • Background in education, child development, or a related field
  • Familiarity with basic math concepts for early learners
