Job Summary
The AMSTI Math/Science Specialist position is responsible for providing frequent and on-going professional learning and on-site assistance to K-12 teachers and administrators in Region 11; spending the majority of work time regulated to on-site support, including travel to and from the site; assisting with preparation for professional learning opportunities; assisting schools in effectively using learning teams and common planning time to improve math and science instruction; providing training and guidance to teachers; participation in professional development activities and staff meetings as required by ALSDE; and performing other duties assigned by the AMSTI site director or AMSTI state director.
Minimum Qualifications
1. Bachelor's degree in a Math and/or Science related field
2. Alabama teaching certification
3. Teaching experience in the associated subject and grade band
4. Valid driver's license
Preferred Qualifications
1. Master's degree in a Math and/or Science related field
2. Minimum of five years of related teaching experience
