Job description

Responsible for processing system requisitions in the Materials Management Information System (MMIS) for supplies kept as inventory in the Operating Room (OR) and other assigned areas. Places purchase orders to suppliers and provides follow-up. Provides inventory expertise to ensure adequate inventory levels are maintained, appropriate targets are set, and accurate counts are sustained. Supports the Supply Chain team by maintaining key inventory and transactional data in systems. Collaborates within Supply Chain Management, internal customers, and suppliers on a variety of supply issues. Assists with product recalls. Utilizes Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) agreement databases to ensure the facility is purchasing contracted items.
Minimum Education
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associates Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.

Minimum Work Experience
  • 2 years prior purchasing experience coupled with working knowledge of supply chain management principles.
  • Proven experience with supplier negotiations, selection, management and financial analysis.
  • 2 years of experience working in an Operating Room or similar clinical setting highly preferred.

Required Licenses/Certifications
  • Surgical Technologist Certification (CST) or similar credential highly desirable.

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills required.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Word and Internet Explorer.
  • Demonstrated strong knowledge of basic computer skills.
  • Working knowledge of healthcare supplies and equipment.

Pay Range: $26.57 - $38.71
