Job Title: Materials Handler

Job Description

As a Materials Associate, you will be responsible for receiving, managing inventory, fulfilling orders, and delivering supplies to various areas within the hospital. This role is crucial to maintaining the efficient operation of hospital supply systems.

Responsibilities

• Receive freight at the stockroom and accurately scan inventory into the system.
• Stock hospital supplies in the stockroom with precision and attention to detail.
• Fulfill orders from different wings, floors, and divisions of the hospital using handheld devices.
• Pick orders using carts, place items into totes, and deliver them to the corresponding areas.
• Interact with patients, doctors, nurses, and stockroom employees throughout the hospital.

Essential Skills

• Experience with stock management and inventory systems.
• Proficiency in using ERP systems for tracking and labeling.
• Ability to operate handheld scanners effectively.
• Strong organizational skills in picking, packing, and loading tasks.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience working in a hospital or sterile environment is highly advantageous.
• Physical ability to handle freight, including cartons weighing 20-40 lbs and medical trays weighing 5-10 lbs.

Work Environment

The position is based at Emanuel Hospital in North Portland, working exclusively within the hospital premises, with no off-campus deliveries. Employees are required to wear provided scrubs and will receive training by shadowing another materials associate. The role involves interacting with various hospital personnel including patients, doctors, and nurses.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Portland, OR.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
