Job description

Job Summary

Arcosa Aggregates is seeking an Aggregates Materials Testing Technician to support quality testing of sand and gravel products used in road, bridge, and construction projects based out of our Ferris, Texas location. 

This is a hands-on role working both in a lab and outdoors at plant sites. You’ll be responsible for sampling, testing, and documenting materials to ensure they meet industry and customer specifications.

Day to Day

  • Actively promote safety awareness and continuous improvement through positive recognition
  • You will test aggregate materials based on established quality specifications
  • Comply with all industry safety rules, procedures and applicable government regulations.
  • Use calculators, computers, telephone, sand shakers, scale, splitter, ovens and wet ball machine for

 material testing

  • Maintain quality records as required
  • Adhere to Arcosa’s Compliance Validation Plan
  • Perform other related duties as assigned, include day trips to local plants as needed

About You

  • Prompt, regular, and predictable attendance
  • Positive, Team-based attitude
  • Ability to lift 50 to 70 lbs.
  • The ability to work in varied outdoor environments (cold, hot, dry, dusty, rainy)
  • Ability to stand on concrete 7-8 hours a day
  • Attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite or related software

Working Conditions
Working in a lab environment most days. Other responsibilities may require periods of work in all weather conditions including heat, cold, wet, dry, and dusty.
