About the Job Material Sorter

We are currently seeking a dedicated Sorter to join our team. As a Sorter, you will play a crucial role in our waste management operations by efficiently sorting and organizing materials for processing.

Position Summary:

We are currently seeking dedicated Sorters to join our team and help out with some extensive projects. The Sorter plays a crucial role in the efficient and safe processing of incoming recyclable and waste materials.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Efficiently sort and segregate recoverable materials (e.g., aluminum, plastic, glass, paper) from incoming waste streams.
  • Safely and accurately deposit recoverable materials into the designated chutes.
  • Provide assistance to fellow sorters with heavy or bulky items as needed.
  • Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the operation of the conveyor belt in emergency situations.
  • Inspect incoming loads to identify and remove unacceptable waste items.
  • Communicate with equipment operators regarding special waste loads that require particular attention.
  • Perform additional job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in sorting or waste management is advantageous.
  • Ability to dig through materials efficiently and effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate sorting.
  • Capability to lift heavy objects safely and follow proper lifting techniques.
  • General Labor, Construction Laborer and Warehouse experience is a plus.
  • Must be able to pass drug test and background checks.

Pays $14/hr

Monday & Friday 7 am till 3:30 pm or Tuesday - Thursday 7 am till 5:30 pm
