We have an immediate opening for a Materials Pipeline Engineer who will ensure the execution of test plans, perform experimental tests and material characterizations, while preparing for a future role in the Materials R&D Department as a Raw Materials Expert or Semifinished Materials Designer. Situated in Greenville, South Carolina, the sprawling Michelin Americas Research Center (MARC) campus is home to approximately 650 talented employees, including materials researchers, product designers, scientists, engineers, test technicians and individuals in a variety of support roles.

What you will do
Complete a training program on both raw materials and composite material design. This training consists of both formal classes and project-style training while being mentored by an experienced area expert.
Develop innovative composite materials that meet functional product specifications, factoring in the product, material, process, and measurement.
Secure the implementation of test plans by inputting test requests into systems
Perform experimental tests and material characterizations
Summarize and send their results to the department and to their partners and databases, assuring capitalization by issuing reports, summaries, etc. to sustain the mtier.
Be the communications liaison between the Materials Testing lab and the Materials department
What you will bring
  • Self-motivation with a high degree of integrity and able to perform job duties with minimal supervision on a timely basis.

  • Leadership, communication, organizational, and technical skills.
  • Bachelors, Masters or equivalent experience in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field (ex. Polymer Science, etc.).
