Job description

Material Handler (Temp-to-Hire)

Pay: $22.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
Start Date: Immediately

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dependable, multi-tasking Material Handler to support production operations by batching coffee and moving materials from the production floor to the warehouse. This role supplies product and warehouse operators, posts manufacturing orders, and drives a shuttle truck between buildings. The position is temp-to-hire, with the opportunity for a full-time role based on performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Batching & Material Movement: Batch coffee and transfer product from the warehouse mezzanine to the production floor.
  • Supply Support: Ensure operators have the necessary product and supplies for production.
  • Order Posting: Accurately post manufacturing orders in the company ERP system.
  • Driving & Transport: Safely operate a forklift and drive a shuttle truck between buildings (valid driver’s license required).
  • Documentation & Inventory: Handle shipping, receiving, inspecting, storing, issuing, and delivering materials; complete required paperwork and documentation.
  • Quality & Safety: Adhere to company QA standards, GMPs, and safety policies; report any safety, food safety, or quality concerns immediately.
  • Multi-tasking: Manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced, high-volume production environment.
  • Attendance: Maintain excellent attendance and reliability.

Skills & Competencies

  • Ability to multi-task and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under strict deadlines and in a team environment.
  • Capable of lifting at least 50 lbs. regularly and standing for extended periods.
  • Experience operating forklifts and other material handling equipment.
  • Intermediate proficiency in MS Excel and ERP systems (training provided).
  • Ability to work efficiently and safely in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures and dust.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (technical or college degree preferred).
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment (food-related preferred).
  • Valid driver’s license with exemplary driving record.
  • Forklift experience required.
