  1. General Summary:
    Primary job focus is the loading & unloading of trucks, placing & removing items from inventory, and operating various packaging equipment. Additional responsibilities include delivering parts, materials, and supplies to the proper production area, and removing finished product from the line in a timely manner.
  2. Essential Job Functions:
  3. Removes finished product and excess parts from the production area.
  4. Stocks/re-stocks parts and products.
  5. Unloads in-bound trucks, enters materials into inventory, and stocks in proper location. Verifies shipment accuracy and inspects for damage.
  6. Removes products from inventory, stages the product, and loads out-bound trucks.
  7. Operations the following equipment in a safe and proper manner: fork lift, scanner, shrink wrapper, and various pieces of packing equipment.
  8. Supports the stocking of the production area to the proper level of parts, products, and packing & raw materials to insure effective operations.
  9. Performs basic maintenance on equipment and lift trucks.
  10. Provides training, leadership and guidance to new/less experienced Material Handlers.
  11. Maintains equipment, tools, and work area in a clean and professional manner.
  12. Maintains the proper documentation and record keeping.

  • Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:

Education:
  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Some college or technical school training/coursework is a plus.

Experience:
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in automotive material handling and/or inventory control.
  • Forklift license, training, and/or experience is a plus.

Personal/Technical Skills:
  • Basic understanding of production processes or production, assembly, or manufacturing experience.
  • Familiarity with the Kanban process.
  • Ability to operate material handling equipment preferred (e.g., HiLo, Forklift, etc.).
  • Basic math and analytical skills.
  • Able to work in a fast paced, multicultural work environment.
  • Ability to function both independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, work effectively within time constraints and deadlines, and handle stressful situations.

Plant: Standard automotive plant/warehouse environment with moderate noise level. PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) such as safety glasses, steel toe shoes, Kevlar sleeves, hearing protection, etc. may be required in designated engineering, manufacturing, or industrial areas. Personal attire standards may apply.
Travel: Must be willing to travel up to 5% of the time.
