Job Description
Jupiter Aluminum is an aluminum mill located in Hammond, IN. We are currently seeking qualified candidates for Material Handler positions.
As a Material Handler, your daily duties may consist of to but not limited to:
โ€ข Stage, move, load, and unload unfinished and finished products and raw materials in a safe and efficient method
โ€ข Stock and maintain inventory
โ€ข Perform safety checks on equipment
โ€ข Perform preventive maintenance (PMs) on forklifts and/or other mobile equipment
โ€ข Maintain daily logs and production reports
โ€ข Assist Operators as needed
โ€ข Perform other duties as directed.
Job Requirements
As a Material Handler, you will be expected to fulfill the following requirements:
โ€ข Material Handlers may need to lift raw materials, finished products, and scrap, manually or using hoists, forklifts or other mobile equipment.
โ€ข Material Handlers may be required to lift up to 50 lbs.
โ€ข Material Handlers may be required to work rotating shifts of up to 12 hours.
โ€ข Material Handlers may be required to travel outside between buildings.
โ€ข Material Handlers will ensure the work area is clean and safety standards are followed inside and outside.
โ€ข Material Handlers are responsible for meeting Jupiter's product quality standards.
โ€ข Material Handlers must be able to pass criminal and drug background screenings.
โ€ข Ideal candidates will have an HS diploma, or GED, as well as some forklift experience.
