  • Monday - Thursday 4:00pm - 2:30am
  • Overtime - Every other Friday 4:00pm-2:30am
  • 15 paid days off (S&C Days +holiday shutdown), in addition to vacation

Compensation:
At S&C, we are dedicated to providing competitive and equitable compensation for all our team members, with a commitment to transparency in our pay practices. The estimated hourly pay rate for this position is $20.00 per hour plus a 20% shift premium. This role is also eligible for S&C's annual short-term incentive bonus, subject to eligibility criteria.
Join Our Team as a Material Handler!
The Material Handler - Basic is responsible for transporting materials from supply stores to drop-off locations using a tugger. Trigger cards and internal applications are used to notify the Material Handler that additional stock is needed. This position completes forklift training requirements needed to advance to the intermediate level.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Use a tugger to deliver materials to dedicated drop-off locations within the manufacturing facility.
  • Utilize trigger cards and internal applications to identify where new materials are needed, ensuring accuracy in quantities and proper procedures are followed.
  • Complete S&C Forklift certification program, including any required testing and certification hours need to pass the program.
  • Review job orders and part drawings to accurately determine which parts and materials are needed for specific jobs and areas.
  • Utilize Oracle ERP to determine part quantities, locations, and receiving history.
  • Meet department targets and consistently adhere to quality and safety standards.
  • Understand and comply with all applicable Company policies and rules.
  • Work with departmental mentors to gain and apply feedback in pursuit of improved work quality.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

What you'll Need To Succeed:
  • High school diploma required.
  • 1+ years of demonstrated experience in a material handling, tugger, or related role within a manufacturing environment.
    Good attention to detail, with the ability to determine accurate order quantities consistently.
  • Ability to work independently/team-based and meet requirements of assigned materials requests.
  • Good communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to articulate information efficiently and effectively to team members in a variety of production support departments.
  • Basic computer skills with the ability to review and respond to requests via internal applications.
  • Basic math skills with the ability to calculate quantities and weights.
  • Good interpersonal and organizational skills with the ability to understand and complete requests given by team member inside and outside of the department.
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments such as scales and calipers.
  • Ability and willingness to follow Health Safety & Environment procedures accurately, reporting concerns promptly to the safety action team.
  • Frequently required to lift, carry, push and pull items ranging in weight from 5 to 35 lbs.
  • Proficient in using MS Office products, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Preferred
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement manufacturing principles.
  • 1+ years of driving a forklift with a safe driving record.
  • Ability to operate an electric forklift for indoor and outdoor use.
