Summary ofPrimary Purpose of the Position

Under limitedsupervision, the Material Handler3works independently anduses advanced skills and independent judgment to plan andbuild external trailer loadsand/or stacks for weldbycalculating the best product fit andoperatingforklift, side-loader,combi-liftorother mobile equipmentsuch as overhead crane and determine applicable lifting device based upon product.The Material Handler 3 also usesayardspotter truckto position loaded or empty trailers in yard, loadingbays, andstagingareas.

PrimaryDuties&Responsibilities*

In addition to complying with all safety, environmental, quality, and core policies, and contributing to the company'sZero Harm and Zero Defectscommitment, the following briefly describes the 3 to 6primaryactivities (not all activities) that areregularlyperformed, and the approximate percentage of time annually devoted to each (equals 100%).

Plan and build loads of materials and products onto flatbed trailers to ensure safe over-the-road transportation and/or;

Plan and build loadsof materials and productswithin the weld baysto ensure safestacking and loading of material

Positionflatbedtrailers for loading ofmaterials and products in yard, loading bays and staging areasand/or;

Position material in an efficient order for downstream processes

Activelyparticipatesin continuous improvement and corrective action activities

Complete all necessary paperworkand transactions, including scanning requirements

Perform housekeeping, 5-S,and other duties as assigned

Education&Experience Qualifications

List qualifications necessary to perform the duties and responsibilities listed above.

Minimum:

  • High Schooldiploma orequivalent,orattainACT WorkKeys Assessment at certified job profile skill level

  • 1 yearofrelated experience and/or training

Preferred:

  • 3+years ofexperienceoperatingmobile equipmentto load flatbed trailers for over-the-road transportation

  • 3+ years of experience in overhead crane operation

  • Mobile equipment certification and/or CDLlicense
