Job description

Our client, a leading organization in the furniture and warehousing industry, is seeking a dedicated Material Handler to join their team. As a Material Handler, you will be an essential part of the warehouse operations supporting logistics and inventory management. The ideal candidate will demonstrate reliability, attention to detail, and a proactive approach, which will align successfully within the organization.

Job Title: Material Handler

Location: Norfolk, MA

Pay Range: $16.00 per hour

Shift: 7:30am - 4:30pm, Monday through Friday

What's the Job?

  • Material Handling: Loading and unloading heavy furniture boxes and pallets from shipping containers or delivery trucks.
  • Order Preparation: Picking, sorting, and staging furniture pieces for shipment or customer pick-up.
  • Warehouse Maintenance: Sweeping the warehouse, clearing debris, and breaking down cardboard/packaging waste to maintain a safe working area.
  • Equipment Operation: Using pallet jacks, hand trucks, or forklifts (if certified) to safely move large items across the floor.
  • Assembly & Packaging: Assisting with unboxing, inspecting, or assembling furniture, and re-packaging items according to quality control standards.

What's Needed?

  • Ability to lift and handle heavy items safely and efficiently.
  • Basic understanding of warehouse safety procedures.
  • Willingness to operate equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts (certification preferred).
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Reliable and punctual with a positive attitude.
