Description
Position Summary
The Material Support Associate is responsible for supporting Press Operators and Material Handlers by ensuring all production machines are supplied with the appropriate raw materials. This role plays a critical part in meeting production goals while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, and efficiency. Approximately 50% of the role involves operating a forklift to manage stocking and inventory.
Key Responsibilities
- Review work orders to determine material requirements and quantities needed for each machine; effectively manage multiple priorities.
- Supply production lines using hand tools and powered equipment (including forklifts), ensuring materials are properly staged and organized.
- Maintain accurate organization and storage of raw materials in the warehouse, following FIFO (First-In, First-Out) practices.
- Perform routine bin audits to ensure materials are correctly tracked before, during, and after manufacturing processes; identify and resolve discrepancies with appropriate teams.
- Proactively maintain inventory levels at workstations to support current and upcoming production orders.
- Remove excess materials at the completion of manufacturing orders and ensure all inventory transactions are accurate and complete (e.g., bin transfers, system updates).
- Support general housekeeping duties, including emptying waste and recycling containers.
- Operate and maintain compactor and baler equipment.
- Maintain warehouse organization in alignment with 5S standards.
- Assist with unloading inbound deliveries.
- Pack, label, and prepare finished goods for shipment.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements
Required Skills, Education, and Certifications
- Proficiency in using a PC, including Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Outlook, and Word.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
Preferred Skills, Education, and Certifications
- Forklift certification and/or prior forklift operating experience preferred.
