SUMMARY:
We are seeking an experienced Asphalt Shovel man / Laborer to join our paving crew. The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, has a strong work ethic, and can handle the physical demands of asphalt paving. This role is essential to achieving smooth, level, and professional paving results on every job.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIESย  ย  ย ย 
  • Shovel and spread hot asphalt to achieve proper grade and compaction
  • Work closely with the paving machine operator and crew to maintain a consistent mat
  • Shovel asphalt, clean edges, and perform finish work
  • Follow management direction and communicate effectively with crew members
  • Operate hand tools, lutes, and shovels safely and efficiently
  • Maintain a clean jobsite and assist with setup and cleanup
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum 1- 2 years of asphaltย  experience required
  • Knowledge of asphalt removal, installation, patching, and maintenance
  • Comfortable Raking ADA Compliant scopes
  • Must have an eye for imperfections while paving to ensure quality finished project
  • Familiarity with sealcoat application, crack fill, and pavement preservation
  • Understanding of industry-related heavy equipment and safe work practices
  • Equipment operation experience (skid steer, roller) a plus
  • Ability to work outdoors in hot conditions and lift 50+ lbs
  • Reliable, team-oriented, and committed to quality work
  • Basic understanding of grades, slopes, and paving techniques
  • Valid driverโ€™s license and/ or reliable transportation required, (CDL Class A a plus)
  • MUST HAVE CLEAN DMV
  • Must feel comfortable driving company work trucks and towing small trailers
