Job description

POSITION SUMMARY
The Sales Trainee Program prepares new sales professionals to sell company products and services. Participants will go through extensive training in products, services, industry, and consultative sales techniques as part of this 4-6-month program. Training involves many different approaches from in-class, hands-on in the field, role playing, and independent study. Upon completion graduates will be placed in a sales territory.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Develops extensive product, service, and industry knowledge, and displays program participation.
• Successfully participates and completes consultative sales training.
• Fully understands and utilizes our technology.
• Work with Customer Service, Distribution, and Marketing teams to understand their role in customer relationships.
• Understands merchandising system solutions, options, and processes.
• Masters customer performance tools associated with data analysis and business reporting.
• Can articulate the value of business enhancing programs we offer.
• Knows sales success driver requirements and metrics.
• Understands requirements to travel territory to consult with existing and target customers, pursue orders, engage customers by phone, and appropriately interact through social media.
• Manages sales activity in Salesforce.
• Prepares reports of business transactions and manages expense accounts associated with travel.
• Participates in customer on-site activities and state trade shows, when appropriate.
• Additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Sales, Finance, Marketing, or related field
• Occasional travel either locally or nationally may be required.
• Temporary relocation to participate in trainee program and willingness to relocate upon completion.
• High degree of proficiency in MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications.
• Strong math, analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion) & planning skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning).
• Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as internal and external clients.
• Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
• Ability to work with and influence peers and management.
• Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines, and reporting.
PHYSICAL ASPECTS / WORK ENVIRONMENT
• Regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk, hear and see.
• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
