Associate - Economics/Finance
Associates work as part of a team on challenging and high-profile projects in a collegial and fast-paced work environment. Brattle is sought after to answer complex financial, economic, and regulatory questions for clients around the world. We provide our Associates with a variety of experiences and individualized development with increasing responsibilities. Associates are central members of each project team and they apply finance, accounting, and economic concepts to help resolve high-profile engagements, including litigation, corporate strategy regulation, and public policy on behalf of our clients`.

Associates are responsible for framing research approaches, managing projects, and supervising team/staff while building individual expertise. As they gain valuable hands-on project experience, Associates also become more involved in developing client relationships and marketing and business development efforts. Brattle Associates also benefit from continuous formal and informal training and development opportunities.  Brattle is committed to being a multi-generational firm, with many of our Associates developing into Principals and testifying experts.


Ideal Associate Candidates Will Possess

  • An MBA with an academic or professional background in Economics or Finance, with oil & gas, pipeline, regulatory, or litigation experience.
  • Excellent foundation in quantitative analysis, and/or several years of relevant work experience (preferably in a consulting, investment banking, asset management, auditing or similar environment)
  • Demonstrated record of outstanding academic and/or professional accomplishment
  • Intellectual curiosity, including a drive to think creatively about complex finance, valuation, business strategy, and accounting issues
  • Excellent analytic and quantitative skills, along with practical problem-solving abilities (including proficiency in Excel; experience with statistical software such as Stata or R also helpful)
  • An aptitude for, and interest in, expressing complex ideas through written reports and presentations
  • An entrepreneurial drive to build their own business and brand while contributing to the firm
  • Desire to work, learn, and lead within a collaborative team environment

Brattle offers a competitive benefits package, base salary, and bonus program for eligible roles based on individual and firm performance. The anticipated base gross salary for this position in Boston, MA is $198,900 annually.  Actual salary will depend on a variety of factors, including experience and training.
