Department Information
Department of Biochemistry, Chemistry, and Physics
Job Summary
The Temporary employee will support the Department of Biochemistry, Chemistry, and Physics as a Research Associate on the Statesboro Campus. The Research Associate will work on a collaborative drug-design project in the Biochemistry, Chemistry and Physics Department with Drs. Karelle Aiken and Jannet Kocerha.
Temporary employees are employed according to departmental need and the length of time will vary by workload and may not exceed 1300 hours worked in a 12-consecutive month period.
Responsibilities

• Develops and carries out synthetic procedures for the synthesis of small molecules
• Performs full structural characterizations
• Analyzes and curates data from experiments

Shift Specifics

• 20 hours per week
• Flexible with schedule of availability

Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements

• Master's Degree

Required Experience

• Minimum of one year of experience with organic synthesis

Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Education

• Masters with major/concentration in an area related to organic synthesis or cell-based research

Preferred Experience

• Organic Synthesis: Experience working under inert conditions

Proposed Salary
$20.00 per hour
This is a non-exempt position paid on a biweekly basis.
