What will you do as a PMC Financial Analyst

The Financial Analyst supports the financial planning, reporting, and operational analysis for Pinehurst Medical Clinic. This role partners with leadership to provide actionable insights into practice performance, including provider productivity, revenue cycle, payer trends, and expense management. The analyst helps drive informed decision-making through budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling in a dynamic, independent, physician-owned medical group. 

A day in the life of a PMC Financial Analyst may include:

  • Develop and maintain monthly financial reports, dashboards, and variance analyses for practice leadership.
  • Analyze physician compensation models, provider productivity, and service line profitability.
  • Provide analytical and consultative support to departmental and service line leaders through the evaluation and understanding of how productivity information is integrated into the day-to-day operations.
  • Support annual budgeting, long-range planning, and monthly forecasting processes.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), including patient volumes, collections, reimbursement trends, labor costs, and operating margins.
  • Partner with revenue cycle teams to evaluate billing performance, denials, net collection rates and payer mix.
  • Perform ad hoc financial analyses related to new service lines, provider recruitment, and strategic initiatives. 
  • Prepare business cases and proforma models for practice expansion, capital investments, and operational improvements.
  • Assist with month-end close by validating financial data and ensuring accuracy of reports
  • Identify trends, risks, and opportunities to improve financial performance across clinic locations and specialties.
  • Present findings and recommendations to leadership.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education (Including Licenses and Certifications): Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field required or equivalent combination of education and experience. MBA or MHA preferred but not required.

Experience:  3-5 years’ experience as a financial analyst or similar role, preferably in healthcare, medical group or physician practice operations. Proficient with Microsoft Office applications including Microsoft Excel & Microsoft SQL server. 

Skills/Abilities: 

  • Requires strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel including but not limited to complex formulas, pivot tables etc. 
  • Experience with physician practice metrics, including RVUs, provider productivity, reimbursement analysis, and practice operating expenses.
  • Familiarity with healthcare reimbursement methodologies, including Medicare, commercial payers, and value-based care arrangements.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with finance, operations, revenue cycle, and clinical leadership.


Shift: Day Shift (Monday through Friday) no weekends or holidays
