Position Description

The Department of Biology at Seattle University invites applications for a full-time Instructor position for the 2026-27 academic year. This position is a temporary replacement for current faculty on sabbatical leaves. We are seeking an instructor to teach some combination of introductory courses (BIOL 1610+1611, 1620+1621, 1630+1631), majors courses including genetics, anatomy and physiology, virology, and cell biology, and/or non-majors courses on cancer biology or global health. Specific course assignments will be determined based on the candidate's expertise and departmental needs. Ideal candidates will demonstrate expertise in a relevant field of biology and a commitment to undergraduate education and teaching excellence.

Minimum requirements include a Masters degree, or equivalent, in a relevant biological field and undergraduate teaching experience.
Salary Range: $55,000 - $61,000, dependent on experience

Compensation at a Glance:

Salary Range: $55,000 - $61,000, dependent on experience.

The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information, and not based on a candidate's gender or any other protected status.
