Job description

Job Summary: We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Telehealth Psychologist to join our team. The successful candidate will conduct remote evaluations and diagnose patients according to DSM-5 criteria. You will be responsible for writing prescription letters for Emotional Support Animals (ESAs) and Psychiatric Service Animals (PSAs) in compliance with state and federal regulations, including those set by the ADA and HUD.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive telehealth evaluations of patients to determine eligibility for Emotional Support Animals (ESAs) and Psychiatric Service Animals (PSAs).
  • Utilize the DSM-5 to diagnose mental health conditions and assess the necessity of an ESA or PSA.
  • Write and issue prescription letters for ESAs and PSAs in compliance with New Mexico state laws and federal regulations (ADA and HUD).
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
  • Provide compassionate, ethical, and patient-centered care through telehealth services.
  • Stay updated on current laws, regulations, and best practices related to ESAs, PSAs, and telehealth psychology.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare providers and refer patients to additional services when necessary.
  • Participate in continuing education and training to ensure high standards of care and compliance.

Qualifications:

  • Doctoral degree (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) in Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Current, unrestricted license to practice psychology in the state of New Mexico.
