Overview

Hexagon Autonoumous Solutions Business Area is looking for a Director & Finance Partner, NovAtel & Positioning+ Divisions to provide strategic financial leadership across the NovAtel, Agriculture, and A&D Divisions. Reporting to the NovAtel Division President and partnering closely with the Agriculture and A&D Division Presidents, this role drives financial performance, strategic planning, governance, and operational excellence across a global organisation.

The role has global accountability for FP&A, project accounting, R&D accounting, logistics and operations finance, governance, and finance business partnering, while working closely with Global Business Services to ensure effective and harmonized financial processes.

A key expectation is to champion The Hexagon Way through speed, accountability, and transparency while serving as a trusted advisor to business leadership.

The Location: The position is based in North America and requires flexibility to support global stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities as Director & Finance Partner, NovAtel & Positioning+ Divisionsinclude:

Strategic Finance Leadership

  • Lead the finance business partnering team supporting the Positioning Divisions.
  • Partner with divisional leaders to develop strategy-aligned budgets, forecasts, long-range plans, and investment decisions.
  • Provide financial insight, risk assessment, and performance analysis to support growth, profitability, cash generation, and recurring revenue expansion.
  • Connect R&D investment decisions with product commercialization and business outcomes.

FP&A, Project and R&D Accounting

  • Govern financial planning and analysis processes, including forecasting, variance analysis, management reporting, and performance reviews.
  • Oversee project accounting, revenue recognition, cost allocation, and financial controls across global project portfolios.
  • Ensure effective R&D accounting, capitalization oversight, grant management, and investment discipline.
  • Support informed decision making through robust financial models and business case analysis.

Operations & Business Performance

  • Provide financial oversight for logistics and operations, driving cost transparency, gross margin improvement, forecasting accuracy, and operational efficiency.
  • Promote disciplined resource allocation and scalable operating practices that improve profitability and cash conversion.

Governance & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations, internal controls, corporate policies, delegation authorities, and governance requirements.
  • Partner with Legal, Export Control, Credit, and other corporate functions to manage commercial, regulatory, compliance, and credit risks.
  • Maintain governance frameworks and ensure divisional adherence to required standards and controls.

Stakeholder & Organizational Leadership

  • Act as a trusted advisor to divisional leadership teams and key stakeholders globally.
  • Drive alignment between the business, Global Business Services, and corporate functions to improve processes and stakeholder experience.
  • Support strategic initiatives, transformation programs, and M&A activities from diligence through integration.
  • Build organizational capability through talent development, succession planning, and continuous improvement of finance practices.
Qualifications

Must Have

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; CPA/CA preferred, MBA advantageous.
  • 12+ years of progressive finance leadership experience.
  • Strong background in FP&A, business partnering, project accounting, R&D accounting, and operations finance.
  • Experience supporting global organizations and shared services environments.
  • Demonstrated success working with senior executives in complex, matrixed organizations.
  • Experience with governance frameworks, delegation authorities, due diligence, acquisitions, and integration activities.
  • Willingness to travel internationally and work across multiple time zones.
