What else can I do with a master's in social work?

A master's in social work (MSW) prepares individuals for various roles beyond internships, including clinical social work, case management, community organization, policy advocacy, and school social work. It also provides opportunities for licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and working in healthcare, mental health, or nonprofit settings, often requiring relevant certifications and supervised experience.

How much do MSW interns make?

Master Social Work (MSW) interns typically earn between $12 and $20 per hour, depending on the location, organization, and whether they are paid or unpaid. Paid internships often provide stipends or hourly wages, while unpaid positions may offer academic credit and practical experience.

Can you make $200,000 as a social worker?

Master social work interns typically do not earn $200,000, as internships are unpaid or offer modest stipends. Social workers with advanced experience, specialized skills, and working in high-paying sectors or locations can reach higher salaries, but earning $200,000 is uncommon for entry-level or internship roles.

Can you intern as a master's student?

Master Social Work Internships are typically designed for students enrolled in a master's program in social work or a related field. These internships often require students to have completed certain coursework and may involve supervised fieldwork, practical experience, and sometimes licensing or certification prerequisites.
