NR-720: Topics in Healthcare Systems Leadership I

The course prepares students to synthesize advanced nursing leadership concepts for a dynamic healthcare environment. Emphasis is placed on practical concepts for the leader at a senior level in a variety of healthcare systems.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and provides students with an approved Covista syllabus that follows a template established by the local campus, and which includes the terminal course objectives.
  • Organizes, prepares, and regularly revises and update all course materials.
  • Uses appropriate technological options for online technologies and course-related software, including Websites, e-mail, and online discussions for preparing the course and making it accessible to students.
  • Models effective oral and written communications that engage the students, provide clarity, and improve student learning.
  • Sets clear expectations for the course by publishing course terminal objectives, assignment/examinations dates, and weight the distribution of various evaluation categories.
  • Ensures that the content and level of material included on exams correspond to the course terminal objectives.
  • Demonstrates consistency and fairness in the preparation and grading of exams, and provide timely feedback to students.
  • Completes other duties as assigned.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • MSN and DNP or MSN and PHD in Nursing degree is required.
  • Must have an active nursing license (Compact/Multi-State RN License required) 
  • 2+ years experience teaching online graduate level didactic courses required (excluding precepting), teaching graduate leadership courses preferred 
  • Illinois RN License will be required to teach all courses.
  • Must have required subject matter expertise and outstanding written communication skills and familiar with APA.
  • Must have excellent motivational and instructional skills in a diverse and non-traditional environment.
  • Solid written skills and ability to communicate clearly and effectively in an online environment a must.
  • Additional requirements driven by state licensing or accreditation considerations may apply. 
  • Proficient in using MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint), WebEx/Teams (or similar platform) and Internet
Additional Information

Chamberlain Visiting Professor Position - Online:
In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected compensation rate for this position is between $715/Earned Credit Hour to $1,950/Earned Credit Hour, depending on the candidate's education and experience.
Actual pay may be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as type of course taught; experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
