The Role

We're looking for a hands-on, technically curious Applications Engineer to take ownership of the performance, reliability, and optimization of our FlexNet system and its components. This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of systems engineering, data analysis, and customer-facing technical support.


You'll play a key role in ensuring successful deployments, resolving complex technical challenges, and continuously improving system performance in collaboration with cross-functional teams and customers.Coordinating technical project activities and ensure that all project phases are documented appropriately.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead and coordinate technical activities across all project phases, ensuring proper documentation and execution
  • Analyze system performance and drive optimization using FlexNet tools and best practices
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across head-end systems and network components
  • Monitor system health, investigate network failures, and improve meter read performance
  • Recommend and implement system improvements, including over-the-air upgrades and hardware enhancements
  • Collaborate closely with customers, project managers, and SMEs to support successful deployments
  • Act as a technical liaison to internal teams, including Sales, providing system insights and reports
  • Maintain and execute preventive maintenance plans (daily, weekly, monthly)
  • Analyze backend data flows to diagnose and resolve deployment issues
  • Support system upgrades and ensure smooth operational transitions
  • Contribute to system design improvements and ensure compliance with data security and regulatory standards
  • Provide technical guidance during testing phases and participate in system review sessions

What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • 2-3 years of experience in software development, systems support, or applications engineering
  • Working knowledge of SQL (intermediate level)
  • Basic experience with Linux systems
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to handle complex technical issues
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with technical and non-technical stakeholders

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with AMI (Advanced Metering Infrastructure) or utility systems
  • Exposure to RF networks or IoT-based systems
  • AI/ML certification or hands-on experience applying AI in system analysis or optimization
  • Familiarity with Salesforce or ticketing systems

The estimated salary range for this position is $85K to $95K. Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience and work location, and is not typically at the top of the range.
