Model-Based Systems Engineer (MBSE)

Location: Fort Rucker, AL

Employment Type: Full-Time

Clearance: Secret Clearance Required or Ability to Obtain

Position is contingent upon contract award

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Model-Based Systems Engineer (MBSE) to support Department of Defense programs at Fort Rucker, Alabama. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in systems modeling, analysis, and integration, contributing to cutting-edge defense technologies.

This position offers the opportunity to contribute to complex defense programs where systems engineering, digital modeling, and mission-focused solutions are critical to success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) models using SysML and industry-standard modeling tools.
  • Develop system architectures, functional and behavioral models, interfaces, and requirements.
  • Translate customer needs into system-level requirements and engineering solutions.
  • Support requirements decomposition, allocation, traceability, verification, and validation.
  • Support systems engineering activities throughout the system lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with software, hardware, test, program management, and other engineering disciplines.
  • Support technical reviews, including requirements reviews and design reviews.
  • Maintain model consistency, configuration management, and engineering documentation.
  • Analyze system architectures and interfaces to identify technical risks and opportunities.
  • Present technical information and systems engineering products to customers and program leadership.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, or a related STEM field.
  • 3+ years of systems engineering or MBSE experience, depending on education and experience level.
  • Hands-on experience with MBSE methodologies and SysML.
  • Experience with MBSE modeling tools such as Cameo Systems Modeler/MagicDraw, Rhapsody, or Enterprise Architect.
  • Experience with requirements development, management, and traceability.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting DoD programs.
  • Experience with DOORS or other requirements management tools.
  • Familiarity with the Systems Engineering V-Model and system development lifecycle.
  • Knowledge of DoD acquisition processes and systems engineering standards.
  • Experience with architecture frameworks such as DoDAF or UAF.
  • INCOSE certification or other systems engineering certification.
  • Master's degree in Systems Engineering or a related technical field.
  • Experience supporting technical reviews, verification and validation, or test planning.
